The WWE Return of the Rock Electrified Brooklyn, NY
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the former defensive tackle for the Miami Hurricanes, WWE champion, and now an A-list actor, made a surprise return to WWE Monday Night Raw last night from Brooklyn. The millions and millions of fans lost their minds for the WWE return of the Rock. In one word, it was electrifying.
The Rock entered the ring and confronted current WWE superstars Rusev and Lana. Rock exchanged words with the Bulgarian Brute and his ravishing blonde manager. The Rock took a moment to compliment Lana’s beauty but then added, she walks around like she has “a Smirnoff bottle in her Putin.” Vintage takedown sir. Rock has said in multiple interviews that he considers the WWE home and will make impromptu appearances in the future. For one night, it was amazing to have him back.
The Great One Returns
Johnson has come a long way from his days as ‘Rocky Maivia.’ It’s one of the reasons why we considered ourselves one of his “millions and millions” of fans. The WWE return of the Rock in Brooklyn was spectacular. At least for one night.
In 1992, as a member of ‘The U”, he won the national championship against Nebraska 22-0 in the Orange Bowl. He then transitioned to pro wrestling and debuted for the McMahons in 1996. The Rock went on the have one of the most storied and successful careers in WWE history. He’s a ten-time WWE World Champion and member of the WWE Hall of Fame.
His transition to A-list actor has been equally impressive. By 2013, FORBES named ‘The Rock’ the top-grossing actor of the year, with his roles in Fast & Furious 6, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and two other films grossing $1.3 billion globally. He made FORBES list ‘The Celebrity 100,’ with estimated earnings of $46 million. In 2014, his earnings reached $52 million.
Thanks for coming back, Rocky. By the way, if you don’t follow the WWE, this is Lana, aka CJ Perry.
