The organizers of the 107th edition of the Tour de France faced a difficult decision this year. The coronavirus pandemic shut down all of Europe during the summer. Ultimately the UCI and Tour organizers postponed the race until August 29, 2020, rather than cancel it. Three Colombians, Also, Nairo Quintana, Miguel Angel Lopez, and Rigoberto Uran are in contention to win the Tour de France. The Colombian delegation is performing extremely well. There’s no better way to celebrate the country’s performance than with Colombian cyclist and Iron Man competitor, Tatiana Girardi.

Girardi is a Life-Long Fitness Competitor

Tatiana Girardi hails from Cali, Colombia, which is more than 3,000 feet above sea level itself. The geography is grueling but has produced several world-class athletes. For instance, Colombian cyclists are considered some of the world’s best climbers in the sport because they’ve climbed mountains all their lives. But Tatiana Girardi is much more than a Colombian cyclist. Girardi is an elite-level bodybuilder, architect, and mom. Plus, she’s matured into a successful entrepreneur.

Girardi was always in great shape, but her physique went to the next level when she took up CrossFit. As Girardi got more shredded, she began to attract attention on social media and entered fitness competitions. She has competed at the Arnold Classic Brasil, Mr. Olympia Las Vegas, and Expofitness Colombia. As her popularity grew, so did the media attention. GQ magazine featured Girardi in 2016.

Her Ideal Man

Girardi’s IG page pretty much confirmed she’s in a relationship. But for guys trying to shoot their shot anyway, she revealed some of the traits of her ideal man.

When asked what defines a gentleman, Girardi said, “the man who faithfully shows a lady his respect with acts of love and kindness… the one who appreciates the value of a woman, as mother, daughter and/or wife.” She added, “I don’t think there is such [thing as the ideal man]… the ideal person appreciates the imperfection of each human being, sees it and accepts it and loves it as it is; that will be my ideal man.”

More Than Fitness

The talented Colombian cyclist has branched out from the fitness world to build an empire. She’s an architect, having studied project management at the Universidad de San Buenaventura Cali. Plus, she collaborated with lifestyle brands including LaBella Mafia, which was launched by fellow First & Ten Sports featured athlete, Alice. Girardi is also a brand ambassador for Frenesi. Frenesi is a global brand of cycling apparel and gear. Between family, cycling, business endeavors, and salsa dancing, we wonder when Girardi sleeps?

Three male Colombians cyclists are in contention to win the Tour de France. As the world focuses its attention on the Alps and streets of Paris, we encourage you to also appreciate the strength of the beauty of “Colombiana” Tatiana Ussa Girardi. After learning more about her, the Tour de France organizers should break with tradition and allow women to compete in the race. Girardi’s success is proof she is up to any challenge off or on a bike.
