I’m a Fantasy Football Loser; I Counted My Chickens Before They Hatched
NFL Fantasy Football is a cruel mistress. She will take you the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. After Sunday’s slate of games, Team Marin was dominating his matchup against Team Vega. Sure, his starting quarterback Philip Rivers scored only nine fantasy points for his team, “Wilfork on the First Date.” But, Team Marin was solidly in the lead–victory was at hand. So much so, the general manager of the team started talking trash to the league and his opponent. Too bad all that talk came back and bit him in the ass. A little more than 24 hours later, Team Marin became a fantasy football loser. His loss came as a result of a huge night for Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles.
So what the hell happened to Philip Rivers? In a matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, he threw a touchdown right before halftime to cut a Vikings’ lead to 10-7. The second half of the game was another story. Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson plowed through San Diego’s defense for 126 yards and two touchdowns on 20 rushes in three quarters on Sunday. The Vikings trampled Rivers and the injury-depleted Chargers 31-14. Rivers was actually pulled from the game in the fourth quarter when the Vikings’ lead swelled to 24.
The San Diego signal-caller finished the game 21-34 for 246 yards with one touchdown and an interception.

Too Much Fantasy Smack Talk, Too Soon

Team Marin was a fantasy football loser because he counted his chickens before they hatched. On Monday night, the Kansas City Chiefs traveled to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. While the Packers ultimately won the game 28-38, Team Marin got fantasy “backdoored” like fresh meat in prison. Chiefs’ running back Jamaal Charles scored 25 fantasy points during a three-touchdown performance. Charles only carried the ball 11 times for 49 yards but got into the endzone three times. Vega was able to score a tie with a big fantasy performance from his No.1 running back.
Vega vs. Marin ended up tied and because Rivers had a bad week and Team Marin lost the matchup. DAMN. This is definitely a lesson in humility and Team Marin needs a slump buster in the worst way to change his fortunes. Thanks to @SBNation for the Jamaal Charles gif.
