Tera Patrick is one of the rarest of the rare actors from the adult entertainment industry. One of the most popular actresses of her era, Tera Patrick was able to break through to the mainstream. FHM featured Tera Patrick on its cover more than once. She’s a successful woman in the porn industry, who’s calling the shots and according to her isn’t being exploited. But don’t just call her a porn star. She is the president of her own film production company, as well as CEO of her own modeling agency. She also runs a lucrative website. Plus, she’s a published author,  reality TV show personality, and actress with several feature-film roles under her belt. Between Jenna Jameson and Tera Patrick, they dominated the fantasies of men (and some women) for nearly a decade. Let’s find out more about Ms. Patrick.

The Tera Patrick Journey

Patrick, whose real name is Linda Ann Hopkins, was raised near San Francisco, CA. Her unique look comes from her Irish, Dutch, and Thai heritages. At the age of 13, she was spotted by a scout on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and enrolled in the Barbizon Modeling School. Soon after, Tera signed with Morning Sun, an international division of the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency. An overnight success in both print and runway, she spent several years as a working model in Japan and Europe. After coming back to the U.S. and enrolling in college, She soon found herself at an open audition for Playboy and was selected from among a thousand ambitious and gorgeous ladies for both the magazine and Playboy TV. In the blink of an eye, Tera Patrick was gracing the covers of virtually every important men’s publication.

Patrick further explored her sensuous side after Playboy. In 1999, she stepped onto the big and small screens, accepting roles in various softcore films. Then in 2000, she appeared in her first hardcore feature. From there, her fandom exploded. And her naughty notoriety spread as the co-host of Playboy Night Calls, 411.

Reflections of Her Profession

Patrick often reflects on the ups and downs of her work in the adult industry in media interviews. She told Laist.com when her memoir first hit bookshelves in 2006, “People tell me all the time that they are impressed with how I came out of all that I’ve been through. A lot of people tell me I’m very sweet or that I’m very personable.” While there’s been abuse, bad relationships, and some drug abuse in her life, Patrick is happy to be alive, now healthy, and comfortable in life.

She added, “Girls ask me all the time, ‘What’s your advice for getting in the industry?’ I usually tell them: ‘Don’t sign anything without a lawyer. Stay away from drugs. Keep your wits about you. Don’t do anything you don’t want to do.’ That’s good advice. Thanks for the years in front of the camera and on the cover of FHM Tera Patrick. We hope you continue to lead your best life.
