Fantasy Football League: The Wire, Week 8 (2014-15)
TeTeam owners are wising up and finally paying attention to the fantasy football waiver wire. NFL bye weeks have begun and the playoffs are only a month away. As the young kids would say, teams are making moves yo. The savvy fantasy football player knows that to distance yourself from the competition, the waiver wire is vital. Whatever the moves, the only thing we know is that neither ESPN’s Matthew Berry or the best bookie in the universe could help Team Vega. The league’s resident “Sports Genius” remains winless in his weekly matchups at 0-7. Talk about an owner who could use a bye week.

A Closer Look at the Fantasy Moves
It looks like two owners, in particular, are trying to change their team fortunes. Team Velez has added New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Manning is averaging 20 fantasy points a week in standard league scoring. Unfortunately, those numbers are not leading to team wins. The Giants are 3-5. As a positive, Joel dropped the frustratingly inconsistent Andy Dalton and his number two QB. Team $405 knows what’s up as well. Fantasy Football is typically won on the strength of your running backs and receivers. The team owner went to the waiver wire and acquired New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram. Ingram is averaging 12 fantasy points a week and plays in a potent offense when it’s working.

Will Team Velez and Team $405’s roster moves help their fortunes? Time will tell.
Other Notable Moves
Team Vega is hoping a change at quarterback will change his fantasy football fortunes. Vega dropped Washington signal-caller Kirk Cousins and was replaced by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Team Rich added Philadelphia Eagles’ tight end, Zach Ertz, to his roster. Hopefully, Rich actually makes good decisions and starts Ertz in a game. He’s too good around the goal line to be left on the bench.
