NFL Fantasy Football Projections for Week 6 (2014-15)
This week, FT&S will be paying special attention to the Sunday night New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles matchup at the Link. The Giants have won three games in a row, but have a checkered history with their NFC East Rivals from down the turnpike. Personally, the Eagles can kiss our ass, but we must remain objective in the interest of journalism. Richie “Dick” Burns will file reports from the sidelines while dodging flying batteries thrown by Eagles fans. Also, we will be keeping track of the fantasy football implications and projections regarding Sunday’s schedule of games.
The Big Blue/Eagles Rivalry
The hated rivals have played each other 150 times and almost have an equal number of wins and losses. Some of the game’s best players have starred in the NFL’s version of the Hatfield vs McCoys. From Frank Gifford to Chuck Bednarik, Lawrence Taylor, and Reggie White. Phil Simms vs Ron Jaworski, all the way to Eli Manning and Donovan McNabb. Division championships and bragging rights are decided during this game. The rivalry’s most memorable moments include (courtesy of Newsday):
Bednarik Nearly Kills Frank Gifford (1960)
Linebacker Chuck Bednarik, aka “Concrete Charlie”, knocked out Giants Hall of Fame halfback Frank Gifford with a hit during the Eagles’ 17-10 win at Yankee Stadium.

Seahorn Interception and a Playoff Win (2001)
The Giants went 3-0 vs. the Eagles during the 2000 season, beating them twice during the regular season before New York’s 20-10 win in the divisional round of the playoffs. Wide receiver Ron Dixon returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown, but it Jason Sehorn’s juggling interception that fans will remember. Sehorn dove in front of receiver Torrance Small bobbled the Donovan McNabb pass, then tipped it into the air twice before catching it. Seahorn popped up his feet and returned the interception 32 yards for the score.
