Model From Early Age

Modeling scouts discovered Pietersen at a young age. She told GQ South Africa in August, “I’ve always been independent and in dire need to dress myself well. I was told that I was tall and the perfect coat hanger. So modelling announced itself when I was 15.” Pietersen is much more than just a coat hanger. Her stunning looks and toned figure earned her several appearances in the South African edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. She appeared in the yearly issue several times before she turned 21.

Traveling has afforded Pietersen the chance to broaden her mind and appreciate the unique aspects of different cultures.

When asked her favorite location for a photo shoot and her favorite campaign, Pietersen replied Madagascar. She added, “definitely the Hunkemoller campaign. It took me all over the world for four years; places like Cuba, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, New York, and Miami.” Pietersen has been photographed by some of the biggest names in fashion, including Terry Richardson. In fact, we can see why.

Balancing Fashion and Motherhood

These days model Jenna Pietersen has added mother to her list of loves and responsibilities. How does Pietersen balance life in front of the camera and being a mom? She told Elle South Africa, “Mentally I separate the two, I have to because the contrast is too big. When I work I give one hundred percent, I don’t feel bad for coming home late, it’s my job and I’m lucky to do this. But the next day when I’m free I spend time with Ruby, whatever she wants to do, then I’m difficult to reach.

She added to GQ, “I love being a mom. I never knew it would be this cool. Sometimes it is difficult because most of my work is overseas. But I try not to take jobs that are longer than a week. I mostly shoot lingerie and swimwear and it’s sometimes a bit of a mindfuck to go from a sultry goddess look to the mom vibe; all-natural, hair-in a-bun.” Between modeling, writing, and research, and raising a family, Pietersen seems to be living her best life.
