Watch: Odell Beckham Jr Carted Off With Gruesome Ankle Injury
On Sunday afternoon, the New York Giants’ 2017-18 season hit a new low. Star wideout Odell Beckham Jr was carted off the field with a gruesome ankle injury during the fourth quarter of the team’s loss to the LA Chargers. With the Giants driving for a go-ahead score, Eli Manning overthrew Beckham Jr on a slant pass. The receiver fell to the turf awkwardly, where he immediately screamed out in pain. He had to be carted off the field after the doctors and team trainers examined his injury. Beckham Jr left Met Life Stadium in a cast and is contemplating season-ending surgery. The Giants lost the game 27-22 and are 0-5.

Giants React to Beckham Injury
Postgame, Giants QB Eli Manning told reporters, “Obviously, you never want to see any receiver go down, and it looked like he was in some pain.”. “So, I just told him I’d be thinking about him; and obviously, we don’t know the severity of it, but hopefully he’ll be OK.” Head coach Ben McAdoo added, “Yeah, I mean, it significantly altered the game.” “We had one receiver left at the end of the ballgame.”
The Odell Beckham Jr ankle fracture was the most serious injury to the Giants receiving corps. Big Blue also lost starting wideouts Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard to ankle injuries. Special team standout Dwayne Harris fractured his foot and will miss the remainder of the season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Other Giants Reciever Options
At FTS’ deadline, the Giants haven’t announced any roster moves, but have only one healthy WR on the roster, Roger Lewis. When news broke of the severity of Beckham Jr.’s injury, the hashtag #BringBackCruz was seen on Twitter. Former Giants wideout Victor Cruz was cut by the Bears before the start of the season. Also, retired wideouts Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson tweeted at the Giants about their interest. FTS’ reaction to the prospect of Owens or Johnson being signed…#pleaseno.
