Lisa Ramos Makes Super Bowl Sunday Extra Hot

As we get ready to pig out, criticize commercials, and watch Beyonce do her thing, the Super Bowl will be extra hot and fashionable this year. Friend of First & Ten Sports, Lisa Ramos reminds us that the NFL is celebrating the game’s silver anniversary in style. Together with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the NFL created 50 Bespoke Designer Footballs. Fans can bid on the special edition #SB50 Footballs and other NFL Super Bowl-themed items at NFL.com/auction. All proceeds from the auction will go to the NFL Foundation. Looking at some of the choices, we want that silver one! Thanks, Lisa Ramos for making Super Bowl Sunday extra hot and fashionable.

The CFDA/NFL Collaboration

WWD reported details about the partnership. Betsey Johnson, Kenneth Cole, and Nicole Miller and a total of fashion houses have designed the balls, which will be auctioned off on the NFL.com. The proceeds from the auction benefit the NFL Foundation. The designer footballs will be unveiled January 20 at an event at the NFL’s offices in New York. This isn’t the first time the CFDA has linked with the league. When the Super Bowl was at MetLife Stadium in 2014, 48 designers created bespoke helmets that filled the windows of Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship.

When the helmets went on auction the first time, a John Varvatos helmet was the top seller, going for $5,055. The success of that initiative led the NFL to turn to the CFDA again.

“When we did the helmets in Bloomingdale’s, it was really successful,” said Rhiannon Madden, vice president of consumer products for the NFL. “So we wanted to partner with them again to bring the worlds of football and fashion together.”

“Lightning doesn’t always strike twice, but in this case it did,” said Steven Kolb, chief executive officer of the CFDA. “The Super Bowl is a huge global event, and to be able to play a small part is really rewarding.”

Message to Ramos

Ms. Ramos, may we call you Lisa. You look great in anything you wear. The special Super Bowl 50 shirt you’re wearing is fantastic. But as a New York Giants fan, we prefer your Big Blue shirt. Blue is your color, in our opinion. Thanks for making Super Bowl Sunday extra special and hot. Enjoy the game, the food, the fashion, and the Halftime performance.
