Jessica Simpson Isn’t Defined By Her Relationships
The public first got introduced to Jessica Simpson when she was in her 20s and on tour as a pop singer. The Texas beauty became everyone’s favorite crush including her first husband, boy-bander Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees. But there’s a lot more to Jessica Simpson than her high-profile relationships. Let’s take a look back at Ms. Simpson’s dating history and now as a WAG, her happy ending.
Simpson’s Newlywed Fame
Jessica Simpson married Lachey in 2002 after almost four years of dating. According to media reports and Jessica’s public statements, she saved herself for marriage out of respect for her Christian upbringing. The couple’s journey through marriage was documented on the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which aired between 2003 and 2005. The show was hit, but unfortunately, Simpson was portrayed as a very naive bombshell. After two years of marriage, the couple grew apart and filed for divorce.

Simpson Is A Wonderland
After the MTV show wrapped, Simpson started making guest appearances on television shows including That 70’s Show and films including “Employee of the Month.” Her biggest role was slipping into the iconic denim shorts of Daisy Duke in 2005’s remake of “The Dukes of Hazzard.” Jessica Simpson’s next public relationship was with singer John Mayer. The two singers dated on and off for almost a year since, several months following her split from husband Nick Lachey.
Unfortunately for Jessica, Mayer was too quick to spill their bedroom secrets. Mayer told Playboy magazine in 2010…That girl is like crack cocaine to me,” Mayer said of Simpson. “Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, ‘I want to quit my life and just f—ing snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f–k you, I would start selling all my s–t just to keep f—ing you.
Not exactly classy John. He told NPR two years later about the quote, “I had nothing to say. I was going through a time in my life where I didn’t really want to share what was going on, but I didn’t want to be boring.”

Texas Loves a Cowboy
Relationships are tough, especially when you’re as famous as Jessica Simpson. Perhaps that’s why she gravitated to singers and athletes. Only someone as famous as she is could understand the pressures of fame. Simpson Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo began dating in late 2007 and split less than two years later. He broke up with her the night before her 29th birthday.
Lucky In Love
More recently, Jessica Simpson found her life partner. In 2010, Simpson met former San Francisco 49ers tight end Eric Johnson. The couple got engaged the same year and married in 2014. Now 34, Simpson is the mother of two and has developed a billion-dollar fashion and accessories empire. That’s right, she is no dumb blonde and clearly knows the difference between chicken and tuna. Finally happy, Jessica Simpson is proof positive, we are not defined by our relationships. Continued success Ms. Simpson.
