Fantasy Bust: LeSean McCoy Ain’t Shady No More

Slim Shady Nah, Call Him Marshall.

The Eagles’ LeSean ‘Shady’ McCoy’s fantasy football production has been very slim this year. And it’s causing hundreds of team owners to pull their hair out. Shady McCoy is averaging 2.7 YPC and has only one rushing touchdown through four games. Over the last two weeks, the Eagles’ RB has run for 39 yards and zero touchdowns.

We don’t have any explanation for McCoy’s slow start and neither do fellow team owners. His horrendous start follows a 2013 season where Shady accumulated more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Shady’s breakout season had him ranked at or near the top of pre-season fantasy draft boards.

Time to Move On?

One the most difficult aspects of fantasy sports is knowing when to cut bait and bench a starter. It is vitally important to draft with depth in mind. Plus, you need to ready to make a quick waiver pickup or creative trade to get your lineup back on track. Has the time come to bench Shady McCoy? Keep your pants on…it is only Week 4. There is still time for Shady to return to his 2013 form.

Anyway, there is a good chance team owners’ drafted Shady first, so he is most likely, a mandatory keeper in most leagues. You couldn’t trade him or drop him if you wanted to. We feel bad for the sucker who drafted him first in our Boldin Beautiful league. Oh, wait…
