Love Heals All Wounds, Or Not.

Aaron Rodgers’ girlfriend Olivia Munn, is going to have to perform magic to help her man get over their loss to the Seahawks. The Packers were shutting out Russell Wilson & Co. in the first half of yesterday’s NFC Championship game. But, it’s Seattle that will go the Super Bowl after winning in overtime, 28-22.

First Half Perfection

Rodgers started the game with an INT to CB Richard Sherman, but after Packers’ S Ha-Ha Clinton Dix picked off Russell Wilson, Green Bay made a FG to go up 3-0. On Seattle’s kickoff return, Doug Baldwin fumbled and set up the Pack’s second FG. The defensive battle swung in the Packers favor after Rodgers finally hit WR Randall Cobb in the end zone. Wilson closed out the half with two additional interceptions and the Packers went into halftime with a 16-0 lead feeling in total command.

All Downhill From Here

It’s amazing how special teams can flip the momentum of a game in an instant. The Seahawks finally got on the scoreboard on a fake FG. Holder John Ryan threw a 19 yd pass to lineman Garry Gilliam for the unlikely touchdown. The Packers went back to work, scoring another FG to make the score 19-7 at the end of the third quarter. With 2:09 remaining in the fourth quarter, Seattle scored a TD on a QB keeper by Russell Wison. Packers still lead the NFC Championship 19-14. The Seahawks successfully recovered an onside kick and moved down the field to score the go-ahead touchdown, 20-19. Head coach Pete Carroll went for two and Wilson completed a ‘Hail Mary’ two-point conversion to give his team at 22-19 lead.

But, if you could imagine, the game didn’t end there. With a little more than a minute left in regulation, Rodgers led the Packers down the field and set up Mason Crosby for the game-tying FG. The score was tied 22-22. The Seahawks got the ball first in overtime and after two long passes, Seattle had won the game 28-22. Wilson threw a walk-off 35 Yd pass to WR Jermaine Kearse. Seattle is going to the Super Bowl.

At least Rodgers gets to go home to his charming and gorgeous significant other.
