The Percy Harvin Jet Will Experience Turbulence

Move Your Seat to the Upright Position.

New York Jets’ GM John Idzik has pressed the panic button. With the team floundering at 1-6, the Jets have acquired Percy Harvin from the Seahawks. Jay Glazer of FoxSports broke the news on Friday. Gang Green has sent a conditional draft pick to the Seahawks for the dynamic playmaker from the University of Florida. On the one hand, you applaud the Jets for finding a creative way to acquire this high-quality player. But on the other, why has Harvin been let go from two teams in less than three years? This Harvin flight is going to experience turbulence.

The No-Fly List

Harvin is a game changer, but with his immense talent comes with a lot of drama. FTS’ Mike Hunt and the New York Daily News both reported that Harvin had worn out his welcome in Seattle. He was a cancer in the locker room who did not get along with his teammates. Also, this hasn’t been the first time Harvin has displayed anger issues.

Harvin allegedly had an altercation with fellow receiver Golden Tate leading up to the Super Bowl last February. Tate ended up with a black eye. Then there was this year’s game against the Dallas Cowboys when Harvin was ineffective and refused to re-enter the game in the 4th quarter.

In the preseason, the Seattle Times reported Harvin and teammate Doug Baldwin were involved in a fight that resulted in a gash on Baldwin’s chin. Both players were excused from practice that week.

During his tenure in Minnesota, Harvin got into altercations with head coaches Brad Childress and Leslie Frazier. Plus he has tested positive for marijuana on two separate occasions. The Jets need another prima donna receiver on the roster like a fat kid needs another slice of pie. Do these names sound familiar, Keyshawn Johnson, Braylon Edwards, or Santonio Holmes? We won’t be surprised when the Harvin move blows up in Gang Green’s face. Fantasy owners should proceed with caution.
