Dolphins’ Brent Grimes Defies Gravity For a One-Handed Pick
The 5'10 Grimes just made the catch of the year, and it was on defense.
He Wants to Take You Higher.
Detroit Lions’ QB Matt Stafford orchestrated a last-minute drive to beat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. WR Calvin Johnson had seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. “Megatron” would have had more yardage and receptions if it weren’t for the remarkable effort of 5’10 CB Brent Grimes. Grimes was matched up against the 6’5 Johnson all day. Stafford tried to connect with Johnson on a long pass to the end zone in the second quarter. However, the shorter defender showed off his hops to pick off the pass from Stafford to Megatron.
Another Stafford Late Rally
The matchup was a back and forth contest for most of the game. It featured plenty of missed opportunities and timely defense. The Lions trailed by three when they received the ball on their 26-yard line with 3:13 left in the game. Stafford put together an outstanding drive that kicked off with 20-yard receptions to Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. On the game-deciding play, Stafford scrambled to buy some time and to find an open receiver. All of sudden Stafford found RB Theo Riddick for an 11-yard touchdown. The play was reviewed, and the call was upheld, giving the Lions a 20-16 lead with only 29 seconds left. They held on for the dramatic, come-from-behind win.
