49ers Drama: Avoid McDonald’s At All Costs
Violent Defensive Lineman Cut By Team.
The illegal actions of SF 49ers DT Ray McDonald finally became too much to handle. After reports of another sexual assault against an unidentified female became public this week, 49ers GM Ted Baalke announced McDonald had been cut.
Baalke terminated McDonald because of his “pattern of poor decision-making.” He added, “While this organization has a strong belief in due process, and has demonstrated that over time, Ray has demonstrated a pattern of poor decision-making that has led to multiple distractions for this organization. “And that’s the reason for the decision that we made today.
The 49ers are obviously a team in turmoil. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has lost control of his team. Harbaugh has bred a culture of tolerance for irresponsible behavior and McDonald is just the latest 49ers player with issues. LB Aldon Smith has had multiple personal conduct and legal problems, just like his teammate Ray McDonald. Smith was in a car accident and then arrested on suspicion of DUI and possession of marijuana in 2013. He entered a rehabilitation facility and left the team for five games. The next season, Smith violated the NFL’s substance abuse and personal conduct policies and served a nine-game suspension. Each time, Smith has been welcomed back to the team with open arms.
The 49ers need to take stand against player misconduct and turn their organization around. Things haven’t been this bad for the name “McDonald” since we found out what really is in the McRib.
