FFL: The Waiver Wire of Week 6 (2014-15)

Wheelin and Dealin.’

As customary, If you’re a struggling team, FTS provides one and one fantasy football advice. But it comes at a price. Hey, we’re not a cheap date. If you haven’t played the wire, the rules are simple. Every Wednesday, owners can add players to their rosters. Owners put in a claim for a free agent. Based on team owners’ priority numbers, players are then added to rosters. For example, if you are tenth in a 12-owner league, you must wait for nine other owners to pass on your selection before adding that player to your roster. This is called “clearing waivers.”

To prevent “cycling” players through free agency, a player that is added and released on the same day will remain a free agent. Some owners try to take advantage of the rule. Intentional cycling of players through waivers is a serious offense and may result in a team being banned. So don’t try it.
