The Raiders Are Guilty of Silver on Black Crime
When it Rains, it Pours.
The Oakland Raiders vs the St. Louis Rams featured the biggest hit of the NFL weekend. However, teammates aren’t supposed to tackle each other. That’s the first rule of American football. Leave it to the Raiders aka “Commitment of Excellence” to sink to new lows. LB Ray-Ray Armstrong tackled teammate T.J. Carrie on a punt return. Worse than the play itself, the Raiders were shut out by the Rams 52-0. DAMN. Gif courtesy of SBNation.
This punt return pretty much sums up Oakland’s day in St. Louis. Raiders QB Derek Carr threw two interceptions and the Raiders were trailing 21-0 before the end of the first quarter. The Rams’ offense played like a white-hot juggernaut from the opening whistle. Veteran signal-caller Shaun Hill finished 13-of-22 passing for 183 yards with two touchdowns and another score on the ground. Rookie runner Tre Mason ran for 117 yards on the ground and had nearly 50 yards receiving. The Rams led 21-0 after the first quarter.
