NFL: Week 2 Injury Report
If They Can Walk, They Should Play
Is There a Doctor in the House?
Week 2 included disastrous injuries to some of the best playmakers and fantasy football studs in the N.F.L. GMs and owners should get active on the waiver wire and consider creative trades. Here’s a short list of who went down. Stayed tuned to FTS for updates as they become available.
Robert Griffin III – QB/Washington – According to our Dick Burns, RG III’s X-rays show no broken bones in his ankle.
Knowshon Moreno – RB/Miami Dolphins – Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Moreno tore his ACL in the Dolphins 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Vernon Davis – TE/SF 49ers – Davis injured his ankle in a Sunday game against the Cardinals and was carted off the field.
But Wait, There’s More
Other players who will be visiting the trainers’ room were: NY Jets’ Eric Decker (WR, hamstring), Ryan Mathews of the San Diego Chargers (WR, sprained MCL), Allen Hurns (WR, ankle), DeSean Jackson (WR, shoulder sprain), and the Saints’ Mark Ingram (RB, hand).
They are not fantasy stars, but NY Giants CB Walter Thurmond tore his pectoral muscle and could be lost for the season. Chicago Bears Charles “Peanut” Tillman aggravated his torn tricep muscle from last season. The list of injured players are courtesy of NFL.com and Bleacher Report.
